Are Natural Products Delivering? Experiences and Recommendations from 27 Screening Campaigns 04 May 2010: In this application note from BioFocus, microbial strain subfractions are generated and used in high-throughput screens (HTS) for analysis with regard to diversity, selectivity and strain origin. Natural compounds were identified during the follow up of subfraction screening programs and their chemical properties have been analyzed. Searches in natural product databases revealed that 135 of the 645 identified natural compounds are novel compounds. BioFocus
Analysis of Changes in RTK Phosphorylation Using Proteome Profiler™ 96 Antibody Arrays 26 Apr 2010: Methods to identify the effect of RTK inhibitors or modifying antibodies on RTK phosphorylation are effective tools for drug screening. This application note presents the Proteome Profiler 96 human Phospho-RTK Antibody Array as a unique and powerful multiplex immunoassay that utilizes ELISA techniques to measure changes in the phosphorylation of multiple RTKs simultaneously. HTRF® Check Kits for GST and 6HIS Tag Accessibility; Proof of Concept for c-myc and FLAG® Detection Systems 04 Mar 2010: Tag detection can be made difficult, in particular for small and peptidic motifs which may be hindered during protein folding. The HTRF® check kits presented here were designed as a one step procedure, with a maximum incubation time of 2 hours. The two exiting kits for GST and 6HIS checking include all necessary reagents for detection (lyophilized for better preservation) and sample preparation. Cisbio Bioassays
Functional Screening of Recombinant CHO-M1 Cells using the PHERAstar from BMGLABTECH 09 Feb 2010: This application note demonstrates the HTRF® assay from Cisbio as a fast and reliable method to directly screen a large number of stable transfected single cell clones. Carbachol dose response curves with fresh cells from a growing culture and frozen instant cells measured on BMG LABTECH´s PHERAstar showed similar results for EC50 and signal-to-blank values. BMG LABTECH
Fluidigm Dynamic Arrays for Single-Cell Gene Expression Analysis 09 Dec 2009: This application note by Fluidigm Corporation demonstrates significant single-cell gene expression differences between cells from the same stage of early embryonic development. The BioMark single-cell gene expression protocol can be used in a wide variety of gene expression studies. The protocol is inexpensive and easy to use, allowing a large number of cells and genes to be tested at the same time. Fluidigm Corporation
OnSpot Primer Extension for Mini - Sequencing Analysis 16 Oct 2009: This application note by Anagnostics Bioanalysis describes a fast and efficient method to verify hundreds of gene sequences of interest in parallel. Sample preparation through integrated thermocycling, washing, hybridisation and detection is presented. Anagnostics Bioanalysis
Highly Selective Off-Rate Assays for Multiplexed Lead Validation 10 Oct 2009: This technical note describes a productive method for measuring binding kinetics on an array of up to hundreds of proteins or sera in parallel utilizing Anagnostics’ hybcell technology. This demonstrates kinetic measurement of antibody binding using hybcell technology. Anagnostics Bioanalysis
Protease Assay for Kinetic Multiplexed Lead Validation 10 Oct 2009: This technical note describes a fast and efficient method to determine enzyme activity (e.g. proteases) on an array of up to hundreds of proteins in parallel utilizing Anagnostics’ hybcell technology. This demonstrates the kinetic activity measurement of different proteases using our hybcell technology. Anagnostics Bioanalysis
